The First Python Course I Bought

Image
When I realized I am serious about learning python, I decided to buy a course from Udemy. The courses from Udemy are self-paced and the prices are affordable. They also usually includes a certificate.  Just a few reminders when choosing a course. Look at the course's rating and the course's outline. The student's who finished the course leaves a rating and comments about the course. Evaluate also the course outline if the subjects taught are the ones you'd like to learn and if you can follow the way it is taught.  I bought Andrei Neagoie's Complete Python Developer in 2020: Zero to Mastery. It has a high rating and the course is thorough and extensive. Although there are no submissions required and no grades given, there are exercises where you can evaluate what you've learned.  Truth be told, I took a long time to finish this course. That's one problem with self-paced courses. Either you can go fast or slow.  Still, it's worth the diligence.

More Free Courses

There are two more free courses from Udemy that I enrolled in. These are the courses from my list of best free courses that I researched from Google.  When searching for courses, whether free or paid, I would suggest to read reviews from other students and consider the ratings given. Also, preview the course ,if possible, to assess the if the accent of the instructor is understandable.

Now that I had finished my first Python Programming course, I had no idea what to do. I do not have the confidence to start applying to companies. I do not know what the next step should be. I had a feeling I still have  to study some more. Also,  I would like to point out that I do not have any money to enroll in any paid courses. So, again, I asked Google for the Ten Best Free Python Programming Courses.  From Google I learned about Udemy. In the list of the Ten Best Free Python Programming Courses, there are four courses from Udemy. I enrolled first in "Introduction to Python Programming" created by Avinash Jain. The course was more like a review to me but I also picked up some new knowledge. It was quite short but now, I have a certificate.

First Python Course

The first time I tried coding was with Codecademy and I enjoyed learning to code. Alas, Codecademy only has a free trial period so when my time was up,  I turned to Coursera where you can freely audit a course (meaning go through the course and finish but you do not receive a certificate. You have to pay for the certificate).  I asked Google what's a good computer language to study and my research resulted to Python. Then, I looked courses in Coursera and the course I chose was from Wesleyan University "Python Programming: A Concise Introduction."  This course started my wandering in Python.    I am glad I chose this course. Although I can't afford to have a certificate for the course, my exercises were checked and my exams were graded. Hence, I know what I'm doing wrong and what is right. I'm really thankful to the Wesleyan University for giving me a good foundation in Python. So, when I finished the course, I was really proud.
